A photo a week in the life of LaLa Photography, using various photographic mediums
Week 32
Whenever I edit wedding photos, I go on this awesome trip down memory lane where flashbacks of the newlywed’s special day come flooding in. It is amazing how one photograph can remind me of a particular moment captured and I often find myself getting lost in the emotion of the photograph by smiling or getting teary. And I’m only the photographer!!!
As I was going through the photographs of a wedding I assisted with Katey Manuchehri Photography, I came across this pearler of a photo. Katey and I had finished taking photographs in Nedlands and were on our way to the reception in Sorrento. I must have taken the longest route possible because by the time I reached the freeway exit en route to the reception, the bridal party limousine was at the traffic lights! I couldn’t believe it, after all I left before they did! So it happened that I pulled in a lane beside the limousine ready to speed past so I could get to the reception before them when the bridal party recognised me in the car, lowered the window and started waving at me. In response, I picked up my camera from the passenger seat and started taking photos of them. Both the bridal party members in the picture and I were having a good laugh at the impromptu photo opportunity before the traffic light turned from red to green and I raced off to the reception.
I think I may possibly be speaking on behalf of my fellow photographers when I say that we too hold special memories of each wedding or event we photograph. I know I regularly look back through all the photographs I have taken with my couples and every time I do, memories of your special day are re-lived.
